# Calico & Calico Enterprise: Now Available as AWS Quick Starts

By [John Armstrong](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/blog/author/john-armstrong/) on Jan 12, 2021 • 2 min read

As an [AWS Advanced Technology Partner](http://partners.amazonaws.com/partners/0010L00001mkqfFQAQ/Tigera) with AWS Containers Competency, Tigera is thrilled to announce that Calico and [Calico Enterprise](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/tigera-products/calico-commercial-editions/) are both now available as [AWS Quick Starts](http://aws.amazon.com/quickstart/). If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, an AWS Quick Start is a ready-to-use accelerator that fast-tracks deployments of key cloud workloads for AWS customers. Described as “gold-standard deployments in the AWS Cloud”, Quick Starts are designed to reduce hundreds of manual procedures into an automated, workflow-based reference deployment.

With Calico network policy enforcement, you can implement network segmentation and tenant isolation, which is especially useful when you want to create separate environments for development, staging, and production. Calico Enterprise builds on top of open source Calico to provide additional higher-level features and capabilities, and integrates with your existing AWS tools including security groups, [Amazon CloudWatch](http://aws.amazon.com/cloudwatch/), and [AWS Security Hub](http://aws.amazon.com/security-hub/?aws-security-hub-blogs.sort-by=item.additionalFields.createdDate&aws-security-hub-blogs.sort-order=desc) so you can leverage existing processes and workflows in your EKS or Kubernetes infrastructure.

![Diagram showing Calico network policy enforcement for tenant isolation with tigera-operator, calico-system, and](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/app/uploads/2021/01/eks-tigera-calico-architecture.ba81d4c9863252d4659cbb94825d50ccd1eafd0f.png)

Everything you need to take advantage of Calico and Calico Enterprise in these Quick Starts is installed and configured in your [Amazon Elastic Kubernetes](http://aws.amazon.com/eks/) (Amazon EKS) cluster, enabling you to take advantage of a rich set of Kubernetes security, observability, and networking features that Tigera provides in these Quick Starts. For example,

- [Control egress access from your cluster](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/features/access-controls/) – Calico Enterprise provides you with three methods to choose from: AWS Security Group integration, DNS policy, and the Calico Enterprise Egress Access Gateway.

- [Apply existing security and compliance controls to your cluster](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/tigera-products/security-controls/) – Deploy zone-based controls, alert on any changes to your security controls, and generate log reports for auditing purposes.

- [Rapidly pin-point and resolve connectivity issues](https://wordpress-1075849-4005834.cloudwaysapps.com/tigera-products/observability-and-troubleshooting/) between microservices running on Kubernetes – Calico Enterprise logs all connection attempts between microservices as well as performance metrics for those connections, and graphically displays your microservices connections, volume of connections, and whether or not the connection was successful.
